 about

Brazilian artist Dani Cortez was born in São Paulo but currently lives in Texas. She obtained her BFA from FAAP(Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado). In Italy she specialized in abstract and old world painting as well as art history.

She has shown work extensively in her home country and the US.

Cortez is a master of subtle color and sensual tactility. An artist trained in a variety of traditional and contemporary styles, she works in a complex process of layering to fashion these massive and visionary works. Nodding to renowned painters like Daniel Senise, Mark Rothko and Gerhard Richter as her creative predecessors, Cortez’s massive abstractions in muted and earthen hues incorporate a range of media including oil, acrylic and found materials such as beads and lace.

Cortez works on canvas, wall murals and bespoke designs.
